Project Overview

Stellar Logistics operated an on-premise server cluster plagued by high maintenance overhead, frequent scaling failures during peak shopping seasons, and slow manual deployment cycles.

The Business Challenge

Migrating 4TB of transactional logistics data without downtime, while restructuring the monolithic application into containerized services running on a secure cloud ecosystem.

Key Project Objectives

  • Transition architecture to AWS with zero user-facing service interruptions.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for 100% reproducible environments.
  • Reduce deployment time from 3 hours to under 10 minutes.

Our Engineered Solution

Using Terraform, we defined a secure AWS landing zone using VPC, private subnets, and RDS databases. We containerized the core application using Docker and deployed it using AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Database migration was executed using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).

System Architecture Blueprint

Orchestration: Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) for application pods.

Infrastructure Provisioning: Terraform scripts for automated resource setup.

Database: AWS Aurora PostgreSQL with multi-AZ failover and AWS DMS.

CI/CD & Monitoring: GitHub Actions, Prometheus operator, and Grafana dashboard alerts.

Execution Process

  1. Audit & Clean: Cleaned up legacy data assets and drew container boundaries.
  2. IaC Development: Created modular Terraform templates for staging and production environments.
  3. Containerization: Developed optimized Dockerfiles for microservices.
  4. Database Syncing: Configured continuous replication from local server to AWS Aurora.
  5. Cutover Execution: Scheduled a low-traffic DNS switchover that completed in 5 minutes.

Measurable Results

99.99% Infrastructure availability achieved
92% Reduction in release cycle time (3 hours down to 8 minutes)
40% Reduction in monthly hosting costs due to smart resource autoscaling

Stellar Logistics shifted their operational paradigm, enabling rapid features delivery, massive scalability, and state-of-the-art monitoring controls.

"The migration was flawless. We were braced for disruptions, but EighteenPlus Tech moved our entire system to AWS with zero downtime. Our infrastructure is now our greatest asset."
